Care, Properly

How to keep your essentials at their best

Good care does not need to be complicated. A few considered habits can help preserve the shape, colour, texture, and feel of the pieces you wear most.

Always begin with the care label attached to your garment. Its product-specific instructions take priority over any general guidance.

Wash with Intention

Not every garment needs to be washed after every wear.

When washing is needed, turn the piece inside out and separate light, dark, and strongly coloured items. Use a gentle cycle and follow the temperature stated on the care label.

Avoid overloading the washing machine, as garments need enough space to move and rinse properly.

Use an appropriate amount of mild detergent. Excess detergent may remain within the fabric and affect its feel. Avoid bleach or harsh cleaning products unless the care label specifically permits them.

Dry Gently

Remove the garment promptly after washing and reshape it carefully while damp. Avoid twisting or aggressively wringing the fabric.

Where permitted, air drying is often the gentler option. Keep darker colours away from prolonged, direct sunlight, and use a tumble dryer only when allowed by the care label.

Iron and Store Carefully

Check the recommended temperature before ironing. Turn the garment inside out where appropriate, especially around prints, embroidery, or signature details.

Make sure every piece is completely dry before storing it. Fold heavier garments that may lose shape when hung, and keep clothing away from moisture, direct sunlight, and rough surfaces.

Small Habits Matter

Be mindful of sharp accessories, rough bags, and surfaces that may pull or damage the fabric. Treat stains early without scrubbing harshly, and avoid pulling aggressively at the neckline.

Proper care will not keep a garment completely unchanged forever. Its purpose is to help the piece age well while preserving the qualities that made you choose it.

Wear it often. Care for it thoughtfully. Return to it naturally.
